Guatemala: Love in Action Posted July 28, 2010 by Aaron Story | |

As we get closer to our next trip to Guatemala in a few weeks I can't help but be excited. This being our third trip as a church in the past year we are able to see the benefits of such a commitment to the village of Magdalena.
In our support of the kids and their families in the art school in Magdalena we got this recent feedback from Carlos, director of the art school (pictured above) He expressed how blessed he feels to have the relationship with all of us and, "not just me but all these kids in the art school that get to receive the blessings."
With the last hurricane came damage to art school roof in June. Through the generosity of the team and Indy Metro Church, we will be replacing the roof. This picture above is of Carlos standing with the roof.
I have personally been preparing by attempting to learn Spanish through Rosetta Stone and thought I'd be more conversational by now. Si? No! Yet, returning with our 3rd team to see many of the same children, families, and people in the village we have been serving will be full of mixed emotions.
There are 7 of us on this team and I would encourage you to set aside the time to pray specifically for each person by name. (Michael, Courtney, Jena, Kacie, Eric, Phil, and myself) The trip itself is August 20th-27th but we could use your support and prayer's before then. If you are interested in helping to gather art supplies as we prepare to run an arts camp centered in the Gospel for the children of the art school please contact .
Also, we have reserved the gallery this October to host an art show to display the works of the children in Guatemala. Mark your calenders for First Friday in October.
Thank you Indy Metro Church for your faithfulness! Proud of you!
