{ The ArtSpace }

Indy Metro Church has been committed to supporting the local arts community from our beginning. The ArtSpace is a partnership between Indy Metro Church and The Athenaeum to host the works of local artists on First Friday's and through out the month, located on the second floor inside The Athenaeum at 401 East Michigan Street.

The Athenaeum and Indy Metro Church partner together to host The ArtSpace in lobby of Athenaeum Theatre. This gallery is primarily focused on highlighting local and international causes and supporting emerging artists.

This collaboration creates new exposure, exhibit and sales opportunities for artists and encourage public use of the beautiful building we meet in weekly. The space exhibits during IDADA First Friday gallery tours and is open during regular Athenaeum hours.

Curating The ArtSpace is Holly Combs. She graduated from Herron School of Art in 2001 with a BFA in Visual Communications and a minor in Art History. She has published internationally distributed street art magazine, PEEL, managed and curated Alias Gallery dedicated to showing international street art, and co-authored the street art book, PEEL: The Art of the Sticker. She has served as the Girls’ Development Director, working with inner-city youth on the Southeast side of Indianapolis, and is the mother of two beautiful children. Holly has taught art classes to students ranging from pre-K through 12th grade.

As an artist she seeks to communicate powerful, positive, socially relevant messages through the use of simple, clear, and visually direct images and typography. Her project “CHECK YOUR SELF” leverages young people’s interest in street art to raise breast cancer prevention awareness in young women. She has worked with the You Are Beautiful collective to create street art installations to provide moments of positive realization. She is currently a Young Audiences teaching artist as well as an ArtReach artist for the Indianapolis Art Center.

She is passionate about art for social progress and working with Indy Metro and The Artspace to highlight local and international causes and to support emerging artists. Contact Holly:
